The handover of a massive database infrastructure, 80 SQL instances on VMs and 50 SQL PaaS with over 400 databases, from a previous service provider in just two months. The infrastructure required urgent operational stabilisation, including incident management, monitoring, and security hardening.
We implemented a detailed transition plan that ensured continuous operations from day one. During the transition, we deployed monitoring and alerting tools, set up clear incident management procedures, and performed security hardening across environments (TEST, UAT, PROD).
The project ensured zero service downtime, improved system stability in production, reduced operational costs through database performance tuning, and secured the environment against potential threats.
Project Overview
We successfully took over 80 SQL instances on VMs and 50 SQL PaaS with over 400 databases from the previous provider without any service disruption.
During the transition, we deployed effective monitoring tools, established clear incident management procedures, and completed a comprehensive security hardening process for all environments.
Results
The handover was seamless, with no interruptions to the client’s services. Application stability improved over the following six months as we resolved recurring production issues. We regularly adjusted the monitoring systems to catch problems early, further improving system reliability. We lowered costs by consolidating the elastic pools and careful performance reviews.
Security hardening was completed on schedule across all environments, TEST, UAT, and PROD, ensuring a robust and secure infrastructure.
