On the Future of Automation with Maria Irimias, UiPath MVP

One of the cornerstones of the IT community is sharing knowledge. As the industry grew, so did this value, leading to the culture we have today - countless events, hackathons, and initiatives like UiPath's MVP program for RPA (Robotic Process Automation) experts.

As the global UiPath community grew, they created the MVP Award to show recognition to the most passionate and promising automation experts. The criteria list for becoming an MVP is quite long, but all of them fall into three categories - technical expertise, valuable contributions to the community, and individual motivation and vision.

Maria Irimias, our RPA Service Delivery Manager, has received the exciting award for the third consecutive year. Through this prestigious title, the Accesa RPA team can delve deeper into new and better ways to create value for our clients. Our specialists can prepare for new automation opportunities and edge cases through early access to new UiPath product roadmaps and communication channels with their development teams.

We are excited for our team to continue their journey with the UiPath community. Their passion for continuous improvement, sharing insights, and solving business challenges through digital solutions inspire us all.

As this is a special occasion, we want to commemorate it by sharing some of Maria's thoughts and insights on automation with you in interview form:

1. Why did you decide to become an UiPath MVP?

Because of my passion for automation and digital transformation.

I constantly want to learn new things, new features, and new functionalities which could support the automation landscape.

2. What would you say are the biggest highlights in your RPA journey?

One of them is definitely - being UiPath MVP 3 years in a row.

Also, that throughout the years, the technology has evolved and allowed us to build intelligent automation. You can now not only automate repetitive tasks, but scale automation to allow a fully automated landscape.

3. What advice would you give to someone considering a career in automation?

If you are interested in always improving customer experience in their day-to-day activities, and being close to business stakeholders, automation is a good fit!

4. What UiPath product is your favorite right now and why?

AI Center - this functionality embedded within the UiPath Platform allows us to rapidly build automations with AI capabilities.

5. Which industry do you think has the most untapped potential for automation?

I think that it's the financial world, since the involved systems are deprecated in most cases, and automation with RPA could be the fastest way to digital transformation.

6. How do you think automation will change how we do business in the next few years?

Business automation will be included in day-to-day activities, and end users will be able to automate their work.

Automation is becoming more accessible

Maria's answers go hand in hand with our own observations providing automation services over the years - not only is RPA becoming more popular, but it's also becoming more accessible. Specifically, the RPA market is expected to see a CAGR rate of 22.5% from 2021 (valued at 2.27 billion USD) to 2030 (predicted to reach 18.69 billion USD), based on a forecast done by ReportLinker.

But what are the factors behind this growth?

First of all, new tools such as UiPath AI Center bring much more flexibility to RPA solutions, helping specialists automate more complex workflows. Artificial Intelligence helps bots stay effective and accurate even in changing environments, as is the case for many businesses. Machine Learning algorithms constantly analyze recent data and make predictions leading to better decisions.

As Maria said in the last answer, RPA has the potential to automate various day-to-day activities, not just niche situations. Moreover, if the end user can manage the bots and their behavior, a dramatic change happens in the way we work. With the repetitive but necessary tasks delegated to robots, people will have more time to focus on strategy and innovation.

There are opportunities for automation in any kind of business, but the banking and financial industry will be at the forefront with many innovations. As new companies rise and shake the status quo, it's up to banks to embrace digital transformation and leverage technology to grow.

The benefits offered by Robotic Process Automation to banks are substantial, and more and more businesses are taking the leap.
