Empowering Meaningful Change: Accesa's Community Impact in 2024

In 2024, we continued to turn our values into action – supporting education, advancing sustainability, and empowering communities across Romania. From planting trees to mentoring students, our colleagues and partners helped us make a real, lasting impact.

We donated approximately €53,000 to reduce the educational gap between rural and urban areas, promote practical learning in IT and STEAM, and combat environmental degradation. As a company, we believe that access to education and hands-on learning opportunities is essential for a more inclusive and innovative future. We chose to support these causes because we believe technology and education should empower everyone. Our contributions reflect this belief, from funding robotics clubs and STEAM workshops to supporting scholarships and reforestation efforts.

Throughout this article, we’ll explore the impact of these initiatives and share more about why they matter to us and the communities we serve.

“At Accesa, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is more than a strategic initiative - it is a reflection of our core values and long-term vision. Through focused initiatives and impact assessments, we aim to be a positive force, driving meaningful change in education, innovation, and environmental sustainability. We believe that everyone within our organisation has a part to play in our CSR journey, and we foster a culture of shared responsibility and continuous development.”

Supporting organisations committed to improving education in Romania

For the past four years, we have partnered with the Oradea Community Foundation to support the Științescu Fund. We chose to support this fund because we believe in the power of practical, hands-on science education to spark curiosity, help young people discover their passions, and guide them toward meaningful careers.

“The robot-building activities encouraged children to adopt a problem-solving mindset – a vital asset in crisis situations. For example, during robotics competitions, when rapid responses are required, they must quickly find solutions. These experiences significantly enhance their ability to solve problems swiftly in future scenarios.”

— Lucian Stiube, RoboManiacs Club, beneficiary of the Științescu Fund in Oradea

Recognising the fund’s positive impact, we expanded this partnership to other communities in 2024 by collaborating with the Timișoara Community Foundation to support the Științescu Fund in Timișoara.

“The projects we supported through the programme enriched students’ theoretical understanding, developed essential future skills, stimulated imagination and creativity, and ignited a passion for science. Științescu demonstrates that innovation in education is a responsibility shared by the entire community.”

— Bianca Băilă, Științescu Timișoara Coordinator

We continued our efforts to support a good cause by empowering 2,000 children to develop new skills in STEAM and Robotics through initiatives like the Stiintescu Fund, Robomaniacs Club and the Robotics Team at Emil Racoviță National College.

As we launched a new partnership with World Vision Romania, we extended our support to vulnerable communities through the “Vreau la facultate” programme. Through this collaboration, we supported six students from disadvantaged backgrounds who were at risk of discontinuing their studies in Informatics and Engineering. Each received a one-year scholarship, and in early 2025, our colleagues began delivering a series of training sessions for all students enrolled in the programme. We continue our support for non-profit initiatives because quality education lays the foundation for innovation. We see its impact in the young talent we later hire; we push boundaries and deliver exceptional value to our clients.

These partnerships represent strategic collaborations designed to foster an environment where young people can discover their potential and gain the skills necessary for the job market.

“We are committed to engaging our colleagues in CSR initiatives that align with their technical, mentoring, and project management skills. By doing so, we can make a greater contribution to our community and amplify our social impact.”

Investing in long-term environmental partnerships

With the support of our long-standing partners, CERT Transilvania and Plantăm Fapte Bune în România, we planted 4,400 trees across the Cluj, Timiș, and Iași counties. Around 130 colleagues, along with their friends and families took part in these campaigns, helping to double the number of trees planted in the previous year. Through these actions, we aim to improve air quality in Cluj-Napoca, support a sustainable lifestyle, and guide our colleagues toward more environmentally responsible behavior.

“All these positive changes are possible only through the efforts of people with good intentions, solidarity, and a healthy vision for the future. Thank you, Accesa community, for your ambition, energy, and enthusiasm for doing good!”

- Dan Jecan, President of CERT Transilvania, our partner in Cluj’s tree-planting campaigns

Empowering our colleagues to make a meaningful impact

In 2024, we focused on inspiring our colleagues to continue making a meaningful impact by creating even more opportunities to get involved and we plan to carry this momentum forward into 2025.

Thanks to our colleagues' recommendations, we connected with young people from vulnerable backgrounds who needed laptops and monitors to support their studies and digital skills development. As a result, 70 laptops and monitors were donated to six NGOs assisting vulnerable groups. These devices will be used by children from disadvantaged families or with hearing impairments, living in Cluj (including the Pata Rât area), Bihor, and Prahova, enabling them to complete school assessments, stay in touch with their families, and enhance their digital proficiency.

Through the launch of our internal fund, Accesa Cares, we not only supported diverse causes but also learned more about the kind of changes our colleagues want to see in their communities. Look at the graphic below for a quick summary of more of our actions and initiatives that reflect our shared values.

Looking ahead

As we reflect on the impact of our efforts, we are reminded that meaningful change is driven by collective action, shared purpose, and a commitment to doing good – together. Every project we support, every tree we plant, and the young person we empower represents a step towards a more inclusive, educated, and sustainable future.

“At Accesa, we remain committed to strengthening our CSR initiatives and deepening our collaborations with partners, colleagues, and communities. The challenges ahead may be complex, but we are confident in our ability to continue building positive and lasting impact.

We are grateful to everyone who has contributed time, ideas, and heart to these initiatives – from our colleagues to our partners. Let’s continue to do good for our community!”
